The Knights of Southwood were able to hold home court despite a furious comeback by the Norse for a 68-58 TRC win.
Cold shooting led the Knights to a 33-21 lead at the half and after some turnovers by the Norse in the third put the Knights up by 22 with three seconds left when Clayton Tomlinson hit a three at the buzzer to make the score 55-36 after three quarters. The Norse continued to fight back and Dillon Tomlinson hit back to back threes the Norse were back within striking distance. The comeback was going to come up short. On two different occasions in the fourth quarter, the Norse had the ball down 6 points but could not connect offensively.
Clayton Tomlinson led the way with a monster game of 35 points for a career high, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 block shots and a steal as he became the tenth Norse player to go over 1000 points for his career. Jayden Peas joined Tomlinson in double figures with 13 points and 3 assists. Dillon Tomlinson added 9 points with 4 assists and 4 steals as the norse defense tallied 13 more steals. Alex Haupert rounded out the scoring by adding a free throw and chipped in 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Kaleb Krom tied Clayton for rebounding honors with 6 and Eli Kroh played a strong defensive game with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
The Norse are now 6-14. The JV also came up short to drop to 7-13.
