Trailing 45-31 with five and a half minutes to play the Norse began a furious comeback against Caston that ended with a three point basket from Clayton Tomlinson with five seconds left for a 59-58 victory. For the night Tomlinson has 15 points, 9 assists, 8 rebounds and four steals with zero turnovers.
The comeback was spearheaded by Tomlinson, his younger brother Dillon, Alex Haupert, Kaleb Krom, Graydon Holmes and Jayden Peas. A swarming defense led to 8 turnovers by the Comets in the fourth quarter.
Haupert led the Norse in scoring again coming up large off the bench with 18 points and 4 steals of his own. Dillon Tomlinson added 10 points off the bench to go with a couple of assists and steals. Kaleb Krom scored 6 points and tied a career high with 7 rebounds. Holmes has 4 points as Peas and Jarret Shafer each added three points.
The Norse once again shot well at 45% from the field.
The JV lost tonight as Jaxton Peas led the way with 8 points.
Both teams are back at it Thursday night at home against the Manchester Squires in a TRC matchup.
