The varsity baseball team defeated North Miami 6-0 behind a 3-hit shutout by Ryan Keaffaber who struck out 18 Warriors to improve to 9-1 on the year and earning his 44th career victory to put him in sole possession of 3rd place all-time in Indiana high school history.
The Norse jumped on top early thanks to a one out double in the first by Adam Roser which was followed by a two out RBI single by his brother Andy to put the Norse up 1-0.
Joseph Ross scored in the second on a throwing error at second by the catcher to put the Norse up 2-0. The Norse would add two more in the third on a 2 RBI single by Shane Vigar.
Andy Roser would score from third on yet another throwing error by the catcher to make it 5-0 in the 5th. Ross completed the scoring with a sac fly to center that scored pinch runner Austin Curless to make it 6-0.
Andy Roser and Bryce Kendall each were 2-3 with a single and double to lead the offense.
The Norse improve to 24-3 as the seniors won for the 100th time in their careers. They face Cass in game 2 on Monday at approximately 1:30pm. Oak Hill and Wabash meet in game 1 at 11:00am.
