8th graders, we need your field trip money for Finance Park MONDAY. It’s $5 if you want a 6” sandwich, $8 if you want a 12” sandwich, and $2 if you’re bringing your own lunch.
Junior high students who are going on the Indiana Beach field trip: get your money and information slips in to Ms. Carey and Mrs. Dolby ASAP! The trip is only week away. Send yourself an email reminder, a text message, or write it on your hand with an ink pen…whatever it takes!
Choirs 7 and 8 will rehearse together during PERIOD 5 today, so Choir 7 – go to LUNCH first then be on stage by 11:40. Choir 8 go to the STAGE first, then have lunch period 6.
The Algebra I ECA is Monday morning, and Northfield is offering a free breakfast to ECA test takers beginning at 7:55 a.m. Monday. Make sure your computer is fully charged!
The Norse Study Table sessions are over for this year.

Seniors–Individual graduation invitations are available in the office for $1.50 each, if you just need a few extra, or want your parents and grandparents to have one.
Want to travel and see the world? There will be a trip to Italy, Austria, and Germany over Spring Break 2015. Interested students should plan on attending an informational meeting at Northfield in Room 108 at 7:30pm on MONDAY. Any MSDWC student currently in grades 7-10 is eligible to attend. Talk to any of the students who just returned from our trip or e-mail Mrs. E. Sapusek with questions.

The junior high Track awards program is TODAY in the cafeteria at 3:30 p.m. Have your ride here by 4:00.
The Sectional Track dinner for both the boys’ and girls’ teams and their families is MONDAY in the cafeteria. Plates, table service, and drinks are provided. Freshmen are to bring a salad, sophomore girls: pasta, sophomore boys: bread, juniors: salad. Seniors, bring a dessert! Have your food there by 5:10 PM. Athletes will eat at 5:15 PM.
Forms for this summer’s Boys and Girls Basketball Camps are on the office counter.
Students, many of you have overdue library materials. The school year is coming to an end and all library books must be turned in by Friday, May 17th or you will be charged the cost of the book. Keep looking!
Are you interested in taking a course that isn’t offered at Northfield? Check out the Indiana Online Academy Summer School! Their credits are accepted here as long as it is a course not offered here OR one you’re unable to fit into your schedule. The summer session runs from June 10-July 25 with final exams at the end of July. IOA courses cost $50. Interested? Pick up a flyer in the front office today!
The Northfield boys varsity track team placed 4th at the TRC Championships last night. Caleb Augustus was a double winner in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs. Heath Miller, Jonathan Fawley, Austin Andrews, and Devin Tracy all had personal bests on the night. The 4×8 and 4×4 relays both ran season’s best times!
The varsity girls track team ran the TRC Meet last night at Southwood. The 4×8 team of Brittany Sloan, Paige Cole, Karla Singer, and Jenna Halderman ran for a 1st place finish in a time of 10:08.7 to set a new TRC meet record AND school record. Jenna Halderman ALSO set a new TRC meet record AND school record in the 3200m. Caitiln Eltzroth is the TRC champ in the 100m hurdles. Karla Singer ran a personal best in the 1600m and 3200 m. Cassidy Miller ran a season’s best time in the 400m while Kalanu Watson Dunn tied for 4th in the Pole Vault with Samantha Summers placing 6th. It was a great night for the Lady Norse! Good Luck at Sectionals on Tuesday.
The Lady Norse JV softball team defeated Blackford Thursday night. Collecting hits for Northfield were Breanna Burcroff, Abby Keaffaber, and Paige Holley. Paige Holley and Abby Keaffaber pitched six strong innings giving up 3 hits.
Northfield varsity boys golf team traveled to Decatur to beat Adams Central Thursday. Leading the Norse and medalist of the night was Trae Cole followed by Braydon Schindler, Andrew Eckerley, and Austin Burns. With the win, Northfield moves to 10-2-1 on the season. Northfield is back in action Saturday in the TRC tournament at Rozella Ford.
The JV golf team lost to Adams Central. Leading the team and medalist was Jacob Terrell, followed by Taylor Poole, Trey Eads, and Tanner Easterday. They go to 2-4 on the year.
Congratulations to our junior high golf team for finishing their regular season undefeated! The team beat two schools last night. Caleb Kroh was the medalist for the match with a 39. The girls also participated in the match. Braelyn Deeter shot her lowest score of the match with a 60. Other scorers for the match were Ariel Dale, Sarah Johnston, and Katy Pefley.
The JV baseball team improved their record to 9-1 last night with a 9-1 win over Rochester. Nate Hembree earned the win on the mound, pitching a complete game, giving up only 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 6. Hembree also helped led the offense, going 3 for 4 with 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored. Joseph Mitchell also had 3 hits, going 3 for 5 with a double and 2 runs scored. The J.V. Boys return to action as they play their last home game on Monday night against Bluffton.
This week’s Words on Wellness: Since nice warm weather has come our way, why not get some exercise while enjoying a fun outdoor activity. Riding your bicycle or going on a hike are just a couple of the many different activities you can do outdoors.
And now for the Norse Honor Students of the Week! For the junior high, nominated by Miss Giordano, the winner is Megan Miller, who helped set up a lab. For the high school, nominated by Mrs. Salb, the winner is Jordan Sadler, who repaired a table in her classroom. Congratulations to these and all who received a Norse Honor slip this week. Winners may pick up their prizes in the office.
